Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Early this year I decided I’d like to do a charity walk
in memory of my granddad who as many of you know passed away sadly April 2017 after 3 weeks of fighting.
He had a major stroke which caused a bleed on the brain the hospital managed to keep this steady and he was doing very well, we all thought that he would pull through as he was a fighter. He was stable enough after 2 weeks to be transferred to Romford hospital where suddenly he went down hill and had another stroke this then caused him to go into a coma and then sadly he passed away after 6 days at this hospital.
When searching for a charity walk I came across the Ben Nevis
trek, which was perfect and I’m sure my Granddad would love. The reason I’ve chosen to do this trek is because the area is very close to mine and my family's heart as Fort William was where my grandad took ill in March whilst on a holiday with his camera club. We spent two very long weeks in a lodge which faced Ben Nevis mountains.
I have decided to donate the money to the stroke association
which is what my grandad suffered with for three weeks.
Before my grandad took ill I was very naïve to what impact a
stroke could have on someone’s life, I did not comprende that someone could actually pass away from having a stroke or multiple strokes. So this happening to me has opened my eyes and makes me want to raise awareness of how bad a stroke can be.
