Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Like all too many of us these days, cancer has touched my life and that of my friends and family.
Having wanted to cycle from John O-Groats to Land's End for some time now, I thought why not combine this with raising some money for charity, and Women V Cancer seemed like the right choice for me.
Funds raised by Women V Cancer supports the work of three charities: Breast Cancer Care, Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust, and Ovarian Cancer Action. For all three, the focus is on providing support and relevant, reliable information to women affected by cancer and their families. This emphasis appeals to me.
I initially signed up for the End2End challenge in October 2016, with much of 2017 dominated by training, and the event itself taking place in September 2017.
I crossed the finish line at Land's End last Wednesday evening, having cycled every one of the 1007 miles from John O'Groats. I can honestly say that it is the hardest thing I have ever done, but what kept me going was the huge amount of support I have had, both in monetary and emotional terms. So many people believed in me and what I was doing, that there was no option but to dig deep and pedal on - thank you.
In an attempt to keep family and friends up to date as my journey progressed, I kept a blog - a 'warts and all' account - which can be found at www.end2endwithjo.wordpress.com.
If you are reading this and would like to donate, it is not too late, so please go ahead.
Thank you for all your support.
Best wishes
Jo (or Joanna if you are family!)
