Story

In February 2019 we received the worst news imaginable when our little Max was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer (Malignant Rhabdoid tumour) he was seriously ill in intensive care and we feared we would not get the chance to see his beautiful smile again.

The wonderful staff at Great Ormond Street went above and beyond and would not give up on our boy (they knew he was a warrior). They saved his life on several occasions. Because of them we got to spend more time with Max, creating precious memories that we will treasure forever. We got to see his smile every day. He has shown us what bravery and courage is!

Sadly Max's journey ended in August 2019 as the cancer was too much for his little body. He taught us more in his little life than most of us have learnt in our lifetime. We want to continue Max's story by doing what we can to help other children and families in similar situations.

Because of all of the staff at Great Ormond Street Hospital we got to say goodbye to our son when at diagnosis this didn't look promising.
