Story
A message from Phoebe:
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Over the Summer holidays I am setting myself the challenge of running 50km by doing 25 * 2km runs to raise money for MSF as I recently read an article about what's been happening lately in Syria and I want to try and help.
In the article a man describes how the streets are littered with explosive devices and landmines and people trying to rebuild their houses damaged in war are being wounded and killed all the time by these explosive devices.
MSF is a charity which helps people who have been hurt no matter what their religion, race, gender and background is. They help people affected by war, disease, and natural and man made disasters.
This is going to be a challenge as I don't run a lot. Please do sponsor me if you feel able. It doesn't matter how small the amount. Every penny counts.
If I raise in total:
- £20 it could provide pain relief for 14 people
- £48 can pay for 200 sachets of special food to treat malnourished children
- £55 can pay for emergency dressing kits to treat 8 burns
- £100 can provide splints to help 12 patients with broken bones
- £123 can provide lifesaving blood transfusions for 3 people
- £129 can provide a kit to treat 79 wounded people.
Thank you so much for sponsoring me; I really want to help this cause.
I'll let you all know how I'm getting on over the Summer!
