Story

RINGWAY GOLF CLUB CAPTAINS CHARITY DAY incorporating
the MACMILLAN 72 HOLE CHALLENGE

Friday 29th June

The Ringway Golf Club Captain's charity for 2018 is the Samuel John Westbrook Brighter Future Fund at Great Ormond Street Hospital.  Samuel was Captain Clive's first grandson who was born in  August 2017 at 25 weeks and tragically, despite the wonderful care received at GOSH, passed away a month later. Samuel's  parents set up the fund to help provide similar care for others in the future and Clive is supporting their fund raising efforts.

Additionally, 20 months ago four Ringway members took part in the Macmillan Cancer Support 72 Hole Golf Challenge. Little were we to know that one of the team was to fall victim to that terrible disease. This year we hope that a number of teams at the Club will undertake the Challenge again.

The Captain has therefore agreed to run his 2018 Charity Day around the McMillan event with our intention being to split the funds raised between his chosen charity for the year, Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital, and Macmillan.

Please check back for regular updates or watch the club notice boards for further information in the coming weeks.  Richard Walker is organising this event on behalf of RGC.

Fundraising is hugely important to Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. Every day, 618 seriously ill children arrive at Great Ormond Street Hospital from all over the UK. The children at Great Ormond Street Hospital need your help today to give them the best chance to fulfil their potential. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs.
