Story
On May 19th 2020 my wife and I went for a private gender scan only to find out our world was about to be turned upside down. An anomaly was discovered in our babies heart patterns and we were sent for an emergency scan only to confirm our biggest fears, our baby had a poorly heart and would require open heart surgery upon arrival into the world.
We were looking at an operation for transposition of the greater arteries (TGA) as our little girl had got her arteries plugged in the wrong way round and she would need to have them switched over so the heart could function correctly.
Unfortunately for us despite Millies heart surgery going well there were greater complications that meant Millie was unable to come home with us and she fell peacefully asleep on Nov 2nd 2020.
We are truly heartbroken that we never got to bring our little girl home to become the family of 4 we were so excited for and if it wasn't for the love and support of everyone around us and the amazing charities such as Tiny Tickers we would not be able to face each day as strongly as we do right now.
I will be joined by some truly incredible friends who have agreed to support and take on this challenge with me so thank you to....

A baby is born with a serious heart condition every two hours in the UK and despite congenital heart disease being one of the biggest killers of infants, only around half of congenital heart defects are picked up during routine prenatal scanning. With your help we can provide a safety net for the 1,000 babies each year that leave hospital with their heart defect undetected, increasing detection rates, improving a baby’s chances of survival and long-term quality of life.
