My name is Kiera, I am 10 years old and since the day I was born, I've never had a haircut!! Only trims to keep it tidy.... My hair is so long now that it comes way past my bum!

I've always loved having long hair. I think it looks pretty and it makes me feel good about myself. Growing up, it made me feel like a princess! It's fair to say that my hair is my favourite thing about how I look and I can't imagine ever being without it! With that in mind, it got me thinking about all those kids who have lost their hair through illness and how that must make them feel about themselves.

I therefore made the decision a few years ago now to grow my hair to donate to such a child. I want my hair to be long enough to be made into a long-haired wig for a kid who has lost their own hair through Cancer. I just can't imagine their suffering.... I mean Cancer alone is a dreadful disease for anyone to have to go through, but for a child to lose all their hair too, that's an extra cruel blow.

I want to give one of these children a reason to smile again... I want to give them hope....I want to make them feel good about themselves when they look in the mirror! I don't want them to see a sick kid looking back at them...I want them to see themselves (as they were before their illness took hold), so that they can feel good about themselves and strong enough to fight back.

So yeah, I'm finally going to cut my hair for the cause. It's been a long time coming, but my hair is finally long enough to share with someone else. I've decided to donate my locks to Little Princess trust.

As well as giving them my hair, I would like to take the opportunity to raise money for this charity who provide wigs to kids for FREE. They do an amazing job but they need our support to make this happen. This is where you guys come in! I need your help by way of sponsership (donations) please. Any amount would be gratefully received and I thank you from the bottom of my heart and to the very end of my hair for your help!!

In order to raise as much as possible, I have decided to leave my hair cut until March/April (2018):

1) To allow extra growth - the more length the better!

2) To allow me enough time to raise awareness and raise funds for the charity.

In the meantime, I will be putting together a page showing my story/journey (including pics of my hair before and after) to raise awareness of the fundraising event to raise as much money as possible. And maybe it will inspire others out there to do the same! All support by way of shares will be fantastic! Please help me to make this happen!! Our journey starts NOW!!
