We support members of the Jewish community to help them make the most out of living.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I shall be running the Nike Human Race (10k) on August 31st to raise money for the Holocaust Survivors Centre (Jewish Care).

The Holocaust Survivors' Centre and Shalvata provide a therapeutic service for Jewish survivors of Nazi atrocity in Europe during World War II, or who came to this country as refugees after November 1938 and on the Kindertransporte.

The Holocaust Survivors’ Centre is open 6 days a week to offer a programme designed to offer relief from their traumatic memories. Members also enjoy a wonderful freshly cooked lunch.

The specialist workers in Shalvata offer practical and emotional support related to past trauma and current difficulties. We record testimonies and link survivors to schools to speak about their experiences. We work with more recent trauma experienced by refugees from former Yugoslavia.

The Centre is used internationally by professionals working with the aftermath of war and offer training to a wide range of organisations as well as supervision of academic researchers in this field.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Holocaust Survivor's Centre will receive your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement is added to your donation.

Whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!
