Story

Dear All,

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

I was speaking to a friend the other day pondering whether I could and should do the London Marathon again this year.  Protestations that I was 'un-fit', 'injured' and er...' rather busy' all sounded a tad feeble when weighed against the reality; by simply donning my trainers for 3 - 4 hours (please, dear God, not more) and doing a bit of running, I would be able to make a significant contribution to a most worthwhile charity.

I am running to raise money for Down Syndrome Education International (aka. "downsed").  downsed works to improve education for young people with Down syndrome. The charity aims to discover potential through scientific research and transform lives by improving learning opportunities. It also provides invaluable support to families and professionals by providing information, advice, publications and training. To find out more, visit www.downsed.org.

Since I have been considering running for downsed I have come to realise just how many people's lives are affected in one way or another by Down syndrome. They and I would be extremely grateful for any donation however small. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Down Syndrome Education International gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Many thanks,

Gaby.

P.s. In this photo the fish are eating the blisters/dead skin off my worn-out feet. Nice.
