Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
So this is the deal: I found out I had got myself a place in the 2009 Moonwalk for breast cancer the morning after I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer - and I knew straight away that if I had finished treatment in time I was going to attempt to do it.
That goal buoyed my spirits for the first few months of treatment...and as time progressed and it got closer to becoming a reality I started to wonder if I was actually a little nuts...
And now here I am...over the moon to have been signed off chemo after a very successful treatment - but now facing the prospect of undertaking the Moonwalk just ten days after finishing chemotherapy. I'm not completely bonkers - there is no way I could walk 26 miles, but I am going to attempt a half marathon distance of 13 miles starting at midnight on May 16. Considering just three weeks ago I was breathless walking up the stairs and had to have a nap after cleaning my teeth, this is no small challenge.
So whether you think I'm brave or stupid, please do sponsor me - per mile might be best in case I don't manage the full distance, but I'll happily take flat rates too!
with much love and many thanks,
(a slightly nervous)
