Story
Although regular cyclists we have never entered any official races ..... until now !!
This year, Gary Hay and Mark Robson have entered the Etape Caledonia, the only traffic free road race in the UK.
We shall be joining 5000 other slightly mad souls on the 81 mile route taking us through some of the most spectacular scenery in Highland Perthshire, starting in Pitlochry then following Loch Tummel, Loch Rannoch and the top of Loch Tay before returning back to the start. See for yourself http://www.etapecaledonia.co.uk/images/PDFs/Competitor-Map-2010.pdf
Most of the route is relatively flat ..... with the exception of a 500ft steep climb around the 45 mile mark !!!
If you don't believe us, have a look

Training has begun in earnest and weekend rides are already in the 40-50 mile range.
Not only have we set ourselves the challenge of completing the race but we have also set the challenge to raise funds for MacMillan Cancer support (http://www.macmillan.org.uk).
Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. Over two million people in the UK have had a cancer diagnosis, and one in three of us will be diagnosed at some point in our lives. At Macmillan they strive to reach as many people who need them as possible and with your help they can help reach even more people living with cancer.
Don't worry if you are not in the UK, we'll take donations from anyone and anywhere !!
Thanks for your support,
Gary and Mark
