Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. As you can probably see from the photo opposite I have now completed the Edinburgh Marathon (Sunday 12th June 2005)

I was targeting a time between 4:00 and 4:15 all going well, therefore was delighted to finish in 4:06 hours, beating off all contenders to the much coveted 1,991st place :-)

My first marathon was an experience I'll never forget; the weather was typically Scottish (pouring rain and glorious sunshine), the crowds were fantastic, and the 5 months of hard training finally paid off.

The last mile is was an absolutely fantastic experience, even although it was uphill all the way!!

My Chosen Charity? I'm running for the Beating Bowel Cancer charity as Alison's Dad suffered from this. Incerdibly we've already beaten the £2,500 target that we set, and hopefully we can raise over £3,000 now. Did you know this is actually the second biggest cancer killer in the UK? The good news is this is one of the most curable cancers if caught early, so maybe do yourself a favour and visit www.beatingbowelcancer.org Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Beating Bowel Cancer will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now and help me raise as much as possible. Many thanks for your support.
