Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

We’re here for people requiring specialist end of life care in West Sussex and East Surrey, in our hospice or out in the community. Our care is only possible thanks to our local community who kindly donate and volunteer. Your incredible support means we can care for around 2,000 people every year.

Story

Another fantastic day although a little warm again! Third time lucky for breaking the 4 hour barrier - 3 hours 47 mins and 27 seconds which was an overall position of 7248 which I am extremely happy with.

Well done to all runners especially Team St Catherines! Big thanks to Cat and Claire for all their support since November, Dave for his training tips and the Central Sussex College Team for the massage afterwards!

Special thanks to all you guys who sponsored me and your good luck messages which were inspirational. Considering the hard times that are upon us I have been amazed by everyone's generosity. Since I first ran the marathon in 2005 we have raised £7337. Taking into account gift aid, the total is probably getting on for £9000! Wow well done everyone. It makes me extremely pround that we have made such a contribution to such a valuable local cause. THANK YOU!

PS Went for my first run since the marathon today - see you next year hopefully!
