Story

Hi to you all.  So you now know that I'm finally going to run the Flora London Marathon..............

IT'S ALL OVER.      5 hrs 22mins & 2sec

26.2 miles:  Arrghhhh.  I've waited four years and finally my application has been successful (through Whizz-Kidz that is)......

My main priority is to get to the finishing line (so I have not set myself a target time) and enjoy it on the way............................  My camera will be in my bum bag, just incase I bump into any celebrities.............

Training:  I train every Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday.  Tuesdays & Thursdays are  shorter runs (3 - 9 miles), but I try to up my speed & work on running up/down hills.  Sundays are when I do my longer runs.

Sunday 2nd February I ran 15 miles.  Sunday 10th February I ran 9 miles.   Sunday 24th February I ran 17.5 miles (my legs started to feel like jelly)!!  maybe it was the hills (Alexandra Palace, Muswell Hill, Highgate Hill).  Sunday 2nd march I met up with Whizz-Kidz and some of the other runners.  I ran 18 miles and this took 3 hours 8 minutes (my legs and especially my feet, were really aching, I hope I can hold off for the other 8 miles and DO NOT hit that dreaded WALL).    My runs are now getting shorter.  Will do 8 miles this Sunday & 10 miles the week before the Marathon................  MY TRAINING IS NOW OVER

Injuries:  Thankfully I have recovered from my ankle and foot injuries and I'm back on the road.   NO MORE INJURIES

Cold Baths:  I've been told that after a long run, you should always sit in a cold bath, as it helps the muscles recover much quicker!!!!!!  I've now reached 10 minutes...............    I'm starting to get use to them.  Believe me, when your legs feel like they are going to fall off, you will try anything!    Give it a go!!!!   I THINK I'M GOING TO MISS THE COLD BATHS

Motivation:  I watched 'Run Fat Boy Run'.   As well as making me laugh, it has really motivated me and helped get rid of some of the nerves I that I have been feeling....................  I hope to watch it again the night before the marathon.....

Going to the TOILET:  This is the one thing I'm starting to worry about.  I've been told the queues can get quite long during the Marathon & I can only hold it for so long ...... Women that have taken part in past Marathons have told me to  find a corner, pull my running shorts to one side & basically do what I have to (sorry for the details) & then continue running!!!!!

My Running Number:  45710 is the number I will be wearing on the day..............  Keep a look out if you decide to come & give your support.

Registration:  On Wednesday 9th April I went to the Excel Centre to sign the declaration form & pick up my number.......

The date is Sunday 13th April (try and come), it should be FUN   !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fund Raising:  As well as online donations, Hungerford Primary School staff, children & parents/carers have supported me all the way and I can't thank them enough.  We have been raising funds through activities such as:  A Party for my Birthday, Bag packing at a local supermarket, A Quiz Night, A Sponsored silence / walk and much more.

But I also need all of your support too........................

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Whizz-Kidz will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many Thanks for ALL your support.

Lots of Love
