Story

Khadija is 12 years old. She has a rare form of leukaemia.

Jonathon is 7 years old. He was hit by a car last week and suffered many injuries including a skull fracture, a severed ear, and damage to her hearing and facial paralysis.

Rami is 11 years old. He was born with a cyst on his brain which causes uncontrollable seizures and weakens the left side of his body. Next week he is undergoing a hemispherectomy to disconnect the left side of his brain from the right.

All these children from across the UK are accessing urgent, life-saving treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Some of them are just clinging on to their lives.

Young people from Ansar Youth Project have teamed up with Great Ormond’s Street Hospital to deliver 300-1000 gifts to children at the hospital to mark the end of Ramadan and the festival of Eid. With our Charity Partner, Giving World Online, it costs just £5 to deliver a gift box of toys, clothes and sweets to each child.

Help us bring a smile to a sick child in hospital by sponsoring just one gift box. But we don’t have long. Gifts will be packaged by children and young people for delivery by Wednesday 15 September 2009.

(Case Studies have been edited and renamed. This project is run by Ansar Youth Project’s Welfare Fund which provides small grants and basic amenities to disadvantaged children and young people who are sick, disabled or living in poverty. All excess donations will be used to support more children in need).
