Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
In November 2009 Richard Sutton and Anthony Haynes will be attempting a 100km trek across the world's largest hot desert, The Sahara. It is unforgiving terrain and boasts some of Africa's highest sand dunes, many reaching over 600ft. They are trekking in aid of the charity, 'Help For Heroes'.
Richard's brother, Gary, is a Lieutenant Commander in the Royal Navy and has just been deployed to Afghanistan for nine months. Many of Gary's friends have either been wounded or killed in action fighting for their country. Anthony's step brothers are also servicemen in the Royal Air Force and the Army, both completing tours in this area. Ant and Rich have decided to give something back in their name.
Rich and Ant are highly unfit and very lazy. Rich once got a nosebleed climbing the stairs and Anthony's only experience of trekking through sand was during a stag night in Weston Super Mare. They are, however, very proud and full of admiration for the men and women who put their lives at risk every day for our freedom.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor them: Help for Heroes gets your money faster and if you’re a 1UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement are added to your donation.
Also come along to my fundraiser at The O Bar in Soho for some hot comedy talent. 29th September 2009. 19.00pm.
So, please sponsor them for as much as you can afford. Thanks for your time.
