GIRLS R LOUD – RAISE £700 FOR St CATHERINES HOSPICE
We are pleased to report that the seven members of Girls R Loud completed last Saturday’s Midnight Walk, and lived to tell the tale, albeit suffering with exhaustion, aching limbs and the odd (very) severed toe nail.
Gayle , Lisa ,Gwen Louise , Caroline, Julie and Claire l took up the challenge of walking 13 miles around the streets of Horsham from midnight onwards on 21st/22nd June. It was a gruelling course but we all completed it at a brisk pace despite a few torrential downpours, speeding boy racers (who missed luckily) and some tempting distractions such as front garden vodka parties. We were so pleased to see the ‘finish line’ after averaging 4hrs to complete the course. We were even more pleased that Sally had donated a bottle of pink champagne which we used to toast our success – see the photo.
The whole event was organised brilliantly and was a huge success for all those attending and of course the Charity, which is such a fantastic local organisation. The total pledged sponsorship at the time was £113,000 but of course that will probably increase over the coming weeks – fingers crossed.
For 25 years St Catherine's Hospice has been providing the highest quality of care, free of charge, to people living with an incurable illness. It also provides advice, comfort and support for their families, friends and carers. These services help people within Crawley, Horsham, Mid-Sussex and South-East Surrey.
So now, having just about recovered, we would just like to say thank you so much for all the support and sponsorship received from our colleagues, our friends and families. THANK YOU.
