"Help for Heroes supports our wounded, provides practical direct support to those servicemen and women wounded in the line of duty in the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I find myself very lucky to have had my husband return safely from 3 tours of Iraq, but he is now on tour in Afghanistan, as with so many wives, husbands, girlfriends, boyfriends, all family members and friends of service personel serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, we worry and fear for their safety, and we live with that every day there away, but we keep everything going, praying for their safe return.

On the 30th November 2009, I will set off from my home in Paderborn Germany, to under take the 21 day challenge to "Everest Base Camp" in aide of "Help for Heroes" taking with me the "Help For Heroes" flag,  Embroidered with the names of our "Fallen Heroes" in Afganistan and Iraq, following a small service of Rememberance, the flag will be left at Base Camp. I will be following the footsteps of Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay to the Base Camp of Everest, the worlds highest mountain

Trekking: up to 9 hours a day, Altitude 2623-5545 ( hope I dont get altitude sickness)

I have just had some great news from ATD, I have had permission from Nepal to fly the flag at Everest Base Camp, there agents in Nepal, are also going to have a 3-4" metal pole, standing at about 12ft high, and up to 4 ft underground, sealed with strong cement, erected at Base Camp for me, to house the flag, many many thanks
