Story
Hello there, apologies if this is the first time i have been in touch with you for a long time. Time flys, but you are all in my thoughts.
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Marie Curie Cancer Care gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
After 4 years i thought it was time to be true to my word and raise some money for a very worthy cause. 4 years ago i lost my father through pancreatic cancer at the young age of 55. I would be lieing if i said it was not the most difficult life changing thing i have experienced. I have always said i would like to do something for a charity that helps family and friends through such difficult times. If i can help in any way ensure others who face such an experience get the support of such a fantastic charity i know i will have made my Dad proud.,
I know the current economic climate does not make it easy to dig deep into your pockets. I am not asking for much but every little helps. Even if you sacrafice a couple of pints or glasses of wine one evening to contribute a little your support will make a huge difference.
David Campbell and I will now be cycling in excess of 400KM in the Rocky montains in June. The original cycle was cancelled from Cork to Dublin due to there not being enough participants so we have been transferred onto an alternate event.
If possible, come along to the Newtonmore village hall on Saturday the 9th May where we will be hosting a horse racing evening. Horses can be purchased so please call for details 07595391102. An trainer and jockey is required. (horses are pulled from one end of the hall to the other on a bit of string). Will be great craic and of course there will be a bar which opens from 7.30pm. Sober up sunday organised at Newtonmore golf club for a 3 man texas scramble. To book a tee time call 01540 673848. No reserved time for event, so first come first served.
We have also gone to the trouble of dressing up like big breasted girls for a promotional video clip on you tube for the horse race night. We could not get volunteers and auditions would have made us light headed as we raise more than money for Marie Curie. Link will be attached soon. Help us get more hits than Susan Boyle.
In the mean time, please feel free to make a donation of your choice. If you support other charities or do not donate i will not be offended, so don't feel you have to. Hopefully catch up with you all soon, its been while i have been in contact with many of you.
Kind regards
Glen
