Story
I have managed to donate 18" of hair!!
Please go to the charity's website, you'll need to google 'little princess trust' (as the link I posted earlier didn't work! sorry), where you can see indiviuduals' stories of coping with hairloss and discover the benefits of having an authentic wig. You can also see where i've registered for fundraising.
A while back I saw a feature on GMTV, in which a young girl and her family were highlighting the issue of alopecia in children and the difficulties of wearing a synthetic hair piece. As part of the interview, the little girl was given the surprise of having a real hair wig designed and cut to suit by their hair stylist. I was really moved by their story and felt incredibly lucky to be able to grow my hair long and be complimented on it. This caused me to seriously consider a sponsored haircut to help raise funds to allow children the opportunity to obtain a real hair piece.
So I did some research and found a charity called 'Little Princess Trust'. It was founded by the parents of a girl who died as a result of a tumor. The charity pay 100% of the costs of a real hair wig and support girls and boys from the age of 2-18 on a long term basis. Children are entitled to vouchers for synthetic wigs on the NHS, but these are uncomfortable to wear and often don't look natural. I discovered that I was able to donate at least 10" of hair whilst raising funds for the charity through sponsorship. Thank you for your time, if you'd like to contribute, anything, then please press the donate button!! I also have a collection tub if you'd like to donate in person.lots of love, Rachel xx
