A HUGE THANK YOU  to all the family, friends and neighbours who supported our Ice Bucket Challenge. Not only did we raise a lot of money for M.N.D.A. but we had a lot of fun doing it. The final Extreme Ice Bucket Challenge was declared an honourable tie between the very sporting Ian and Charles. Many of the earlier victims enjoyed a little revenge!!!!!    Eve

At the age of 70, I was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease which is a devastating incurable condition.  The Motor Neurone Disease Association was set up to support sufferers and to research a cure.  It needs large sums of money to provide equipment, information and to fund research.  Believing in a positive approach, I am raising money to support the Association's work.  While I am still mobile, I will attempt to walk the 192 mile Coast to Coast walk across England from St Bees in Cumbria to Robin Hood's Bay in Yorkshire, with the close support of Eve, my family and friends.  The expedition will take place from May 30th to June 22nd. I hope that you will feel able to sponsor me, thereby helping MNDA in its valuable work and hastening the day when the world will be free of this horrible disease.

As I approach this challenge, I realise that I may not be able to undertake each stage of this demanding walk, due to the progress of my M.N.D. If this is the case, my family will step in and ensure that the Coast to Coast is completed by Team Paton.

UPDATE ON 21/06/10:

AT 18:36 ON MONDAY 21ST JUNE GORDON DIPPED HIS BOOTS INTO THE NORTH SEA AT ROBIN HOODS BAY.  GORDON  HAS WALKED EVERY STEP OF 192 MILES OF THE COAST TO COAST!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the MNDA and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
