EDINBURGH MOON WALK 2008 - June 14 to June 15

The 2007 Moon Walk in Edinburgh raised £2.4 million to help support vital breast cancer causes in Scotland.   This year is the Capital City's 3rd Moon Walk and over 12,000 people - women and men - have registered to pound the streets, in their decorated bras, in order to complete either a half or a full marathon distance.   www.walkthewalk.org

Last year I was a volunteer driver of a support vehicle and spent my busy 8 hour shift assisting walkers in need of "care and attention", distributing food and water along the route or giving the very tired walkers some much needed verbal encouragement.

For 2008 I have been asked to be the driver for the Chief Marshall.   This will involve a 16 hour overnight double shift from 8:00pm Saturday until about 12:00 noon Sunday, when the last walkers are expected to finish.   (Don't worry, I take a 45 min break every 4 hours).
