My story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

I am running the London Marathon in support of the wonderful and often courageous work of Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW).

CSW does great work throughout the world, but I am particularly grateful for the support they give to humanitarian aid work inside war-torn Burma. My wife and I have close ties with people working in Burma and have visted the Thai/Burma border on 3 occasions to deliver aid and to give encouragement to the persecuted and to those who work to help them.

Whilst most of the world 'turns a blind eye' to the humanitarian crisis which has haunted Burma since 1948, CSW gives resources and encouragement to organisations such as Free Burma Rangers (www.freeburmarangers.org), a Christian based relief oganisation that is prepared to risk the lives of its members to serve the persecuted inhabitants of troubled Burma.

I am not a runner or even any form of sportsman, so the training and commitment demanded of me is enormous.  I just thought I would mention that, in case you thought it would be easy for me.......it won't be!

PS. I've done my knees in training, so I will be hobbling not running.

I will be wearing the T shirt in the photo and also an orange baseball cap. The back of the T shirt says: " Free Burma Rangers".  Please cheer me on if you go to the event. Or even if you don't go!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Christian Solidarity Worldwide will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.

Thanks to all of you who have donated so far. I won't be able to thank the Anonymous sponsors personally, or those whom I don't know or have contact details for. To all of you I send my heart-felt gratitude.
