It's really easy to donate to our half-marathon effort to raise as much money as possible for Help the Hospice. Every year, UK hospices help 250,000 terminally ill adults and children to live life to the full, for whatever time they have left. Each of these patients will be a mother or father, brother or sister, friend or colleague.
There are over 220 local adult and children’s hospices in the UK. Most are small local charities who on average receive just 31% funding from the government. All the rest needs to be fundraised for, meaning that hospices collectively need to raise £400 million to keep going every year.
So, with such a huge amount of money required to keep Hospices going, Rob, Bev, JP, Lol and Aís are donning running shoes (some of us for the first time, and sadly Jimmy Choo don't do trainers), and running 13.1 miles of Great North Run on September 20th 2009.
Training is going exceptionally well, although since the International Rally Isle of Man (10th & 11th July), Rob seems to be taking the stage recce'ing one step further and Team Greenlight are a little concerned that his new training plan involves running all 180 miles of stages! Marine Drive has been completed, perhaps Druidale is next?!

September, The Greenlight Great North Runners will be hosting an
evening of drinking, eating and furry pig racing at Bar George -
hosted by TV's Tiff Needell! Tickets are £20.00 and are
