Story
Hi, My name is Greg Symondson. On June 18th I will be departing from Victoria Falls in Zambia with my good friend Adam Wolley to cycle 3500km to cape town in aid of Malaria Consortium.
Adam is currently cycling from London to Cape Town and I am going to cycle the last month and a half of this epic journey with him.
Although my journey is dwarfed by Adams it is still going to be a gruelling challenge and I intend to raise a considerable ammount of money for a worthy cause by completing it.
Malaria consortium ditributes long lasting insecticide treated nets and educates the recipients on using the nets and does follow up checks to make sure they are used properly. They operate in all of the countries I will be cycling through.
Malaria is a serious problem in Africa, killing a child every 30 seconds. The worst thing is that this will continue because less than 5 percent of people at greatest risk have an insecticide-treated mosquito net to sleep under.
It costs a mere £5 to make and deliver a mosquito net that can provide essential protection at night for 2 children or a pregnant mother, please sponsor as many nets as you can, my aim is to raise £4,000 which will fund 800 nets.
Please give generously, as every five pounds raised could quite possibly save a life.
