We provide the support needed to give homeless young people a future

Story

Did you hear the latest office gossip - that David Maxwell, Ian Gorham and Clare Hartnell are going to spend the night together?

The very good sports that they are, David Maxwell, London office Chairman, Ian Gorham, Head of Financial Services Group and both members of the London office Leadership Group and Clare Hartnell, Head of Property Tax Services have agreed to rough it for a night to participate in the 2008 Sleep Out Campaign for the national charity, Centrepoint. The charity supports and campaigns for homeless young people, helping 800 a day, predominantly in London.

The Sleep Out will happen on Thursday night, 13 November and they will be layering up and rolling out their sleeping bags under Leadenhall Market in the City of London. David, Ian and Clare are giving up the comfort and security of their own beds for one night to understand the danger and discomfort that homeless young people face. They hope, to raise funds for the important work Centrepoint does, particularly needed at this time of year.

They will be joined by Partner Margaret Bowler, partner leading Corporate Responsibility nationally and Rooful Ali, who drives our London office CR campaigns.  The Sleep Out Campaign started 5 years ago and celebrities and local businesses have joined in the pledge to raise awareness and support.  Other supporters include senior partners from major London Law firms and large London businesses. Leadenhall market's S&M café (Sausage and Mash, honest) will kindly be providing the food for all participants before they face a night in the cold.

The charity itself hopes to break all records, by raising close to £275,000 which are the costs associated with running their services, providing food, accommodation and support to homeless young people over Christmas.

As you begin your personal festive preparations with your families in very comfortable and safe surroundings, please think of those who are living their life on the streets. You will hear more about this cause and the charity and how you can help as we release announcements about this year's London Christmas Party and on the night, 16 December.

If you would like to help the "Sleep Out" team and raise awareness for Centrepoint charity, you can make a donation below - we will keep this appeal open until Friday 19 December.
