Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Back in tip-top shape (!), I'll be joining 50,000 other folk on 05 October this year, to hit the streets of Newcastle, Gateshead and South Shields for the Great North Run - the world's largest Half Marathon.

I'm raising money for Alzheimer's having seen its affects at close hand. My Gran's 93, but has been afflicted by this disease for the last eight years. Needing 24 hour care, it is an awful disease, slowly and agonisingly robbing the last years of life. And at the same time putting an awful strain on family - my Grandpa cared for her himself at home, until it became too much, in his late eighties. Alzheimer's is the 'long goodbye'.  

One in three of us will be affected by dementia later in life, yet Alzheimer's receives very little in research funds.

Look out for me on the telly (don't expect me to be decked out as in the photo.. I'll be wearing white socks!), and please support me by giving a little to the Alzheimer's Society.
