We believe in the power of sport to transform young lives.

Story

Guys and girls

As many of you know, This year I sucessfully ran the London Marathon (April 17th) which I completed in 3 hours 29 mins. Not satisified with this one challenge, I have foolishly committed myself to a summer of total madness.

Over the next couple of months I will be doing 3 more crazy events to help raise money for Access Sport - a charity which promotes the accessibility of sport to disadvantaged young people.

So in addition to the Marathon, within the space of 6 weeks I will be taking up:

1) Man V Horse Marathon in June - 22 miles cross country running against horses! 2)The Hebridean Challenge at the start of July- where in a team of 4, we have 5 days to make our way across the Hebrides running, swimming, road cycling and offroad biking. An event which apparently will challenge our navigational skills as much as our fitness! 3)And if I have any energy left in me (and if I find my way out of the Hebrides), 2 weeks later, I will be participating in a World Record Marathon Netball Match - lasting a mere 55 hours (starting on a Friday morning and going through to Sunday afternoon)! Please give generously - through personal experience I have seen first hand the opportunities and experiences young people can get through playing sport. So to give something back to Sport, I want to help more and more kids have those same opportunities.

Access Sport is a registered charity. We make inclusion the norm by tackling the access barriers faced by disadvantaged and disabled young people, focussing on the causes of exclusion—not just the symptoms.
