Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have only been running for the last 2 months & this 10k will be my first significant milestone on the way to possibly the Great North Run next year. So what better way to inspire me to achieve this goal by making it public & raising money for a good cause - mental health problems are poorly understood & still carry social stigma.

Hopefully, by being open about mental illness, the taboo around it can start to dissolve and awareness increase.  I have seen at close hand, with my late mother, the effects of poor mental health in the '80s, when such issues were not openly discussed. Anything that can be done to alleviate the lives of those suffering is a worthy cause, so please join me in supporting Umbrella's objectives by making a donation, however small.
