Fat Buddah and 200 Minutes Cancer Appeal, 1 October 2006

Story

A cancer appeal to support 200 minutes and fat buddha and all other victims of throat and neck cancer

Many of you may know that 2 forumites of long standing - 200 minutes and fat buddha - have both suffered from carcinoma of the throat in 2006.  Both have required interventional surgery to differing extents and both have needed 6 weeks of radiotherapy - 200's also needed some chemotherapy.  Luckily, both of them are progressing well and FB is back into active competition - treatment finished in June for him - and he has so far completed a 1/2 Ironman triathlon and is scheduled to do Beachy Head Marathon in October.  200 minutes is still knocking out the run miles out despite more radical surgery and whilst he is still undergoing treatment.

My intention is to auction a painting of mine of Chamonix - similar to the one on the left.  I also happen to know that Chamonix has been one of FB's favourite places in Europe for many years.

The raffle draw will take place on Christmas Eve and for a donation of £5, your name will be entered into the raffle.

All monies will go to the Mouth Cancer Foundation - www.mouthcancerfoundation.org - which is raising awareness of mouth, throat and other head & neck cancers, where sufferers have a higher proportion of deaths per number of cases than breast cancer, cervical cancer or skin melanoma with survival rates often below 50% due to late detection and ignorance of symptoms.

This means a lot to FB and 200 minutes so please donate £5 for this worthy charity and put yourself in with a chance of winning one of my paintings.

many thanks
