On 10th March 2013 I will compete in the Engadin Skimarathon, the biggest cross country skiing event in the Alps.
By training hard on rollerskis here in Richmond Park (and looking ridiculous) I will hopefully ski 42km without collapsing, and live to tell the tale! Most importantly, however, I want to raise money for Evie.
Evie is the daughter of Aimey and James Shears. I know Aimey as Ms Ford, my amazing Drama and Theatre Studies teacher from Tiffin Girls' School. She and her husband James need all the emotional and financial support she can get to help Evie make progress. With current diagnoses of Cerebral Palsy, a movement disorder as well as Retinoblastoma, learning basic life skills including the simple concept of controlled movement, will be a huge challenge for Evie. She will continue to require high levels of specialist support for the future. This will include appointments with Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and language Therapists, Specialist Nurse support and Specialist Education provision to name a few. The list is endless. Please read more about her story on her website http://www.enablingevie.co.uk/ and give anything you can to the cause.
Your sponsorship will really help me get to the end of the race and will go directly to a little girl that needs your help, through the Tree of Hope Charity. Thank you!
