About Hannah:
Hannah is 17 years old and lives in Chester.  In August 2008, when she was just 15 years old, she was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour.  Since then she has undergone 3 operations, 6 weeks of radiotherapy and over 12 months of chemotherapy.  She suffered a stroke following her 3rd operation, which left her with left sided weakness.  This hasn't deterred Hannah, she still manged to pass all her GCSE's with flying colours (despite having to take most of them at home, wearing her pyjamas and with a 'sick bucket' next to her!)

Hannah's also just passed her AS levels - 2 A's and a B!  This is amazing considering what she's been through!

Hannah's Umbrella Fund at the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust has now exceeded £80,000.  She is continuing to fund raise for this charity, but she now also wants to raise a further £35k for Alder Hey's Imagine Appeal - Oncology Research Fund (Dr Barry Pizer's Brain Tumour Research.)  Dr Pizer is Hannah's Oncologist.

Hannah is such a fighter, she's an inspiration to so many people, with her amazing attitude, fun sense of humour and zest for life.  She brings light and love into all our lives.

About Hannah's hoodies:

Hannah came up with the idea of selling hoodies to raise awareness and funds.  She started by selling them to friends and family.  She has sold hundreds and raised thousands.  If you are interested in purchasing a hoody please contact us via hannahjonesbtresearchfund@googlemail.com (if you would like the profit to go to Alder Hey) or sdbtthannahbanana@googlemail.com  (if you would like the profit to go to the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust.  Either way, the money will be spent on brain tumour research.

We also do hoodies in memory of Annie and Christie too.

About Brain Tumours:
-  Less than 1% of cancer research funding goes towards brain tumour research.
-  More children die from a brain tumour than any other cancer - 40% of all cancer deaths in children are from a brain
   tumour
-  3,400 people lose their lives to a brain tumour each year, this number is increasing year on year
-  On average 75% of all childhood cancer patients in Britain survive five years, only 65% of children diagnosed with a
high grade brain tumour live for longer than this
-  In adults, with a malignant brain tumour, only 14% living longer than 5 years * 40% of all cancer deaths in children are
   from a brain tumour.

Please help find a cure for Hannah and others like her.  Any amount you donate is gratefully received and is a fantastic boost to all our family.

Many thanks

Hannah's Auntie Jan
