My story

UPDATE: First three appeals have exceeded targets.  £11,000+ collected. Thanks all.  New appeals, for Faith and Football, and Tom Prince Cancer Trust, now underway - see

http://www.justgiving.com/pompeyfans4faf and http://www.justgiving.com/Pompeyfanssupporttomprince

For good article about the appeals - see http://blog.justgiving.com/community/pay-up-pompey/

Play up Pompey

UPDATE: Incredible stuff.  Thanks everybody for helping reach this target so quickly.  Harbour Centre Support Centre have been in touch to say how incredibly appreciative they are of the generosity shown by everybody who has contributed.   Listen out for their spokesperson on BBC Radio 5 Live on Monday afternoon.

Now this target has been reached a third appeal has been launched to help the South Central Ambulance Charitable Trust.   The appeal page is at http://www.justgiving.com/pompeyfans4scact

The Harbour Cancer Support Centre appeal stays open and I encourage everybody to continue supporting this great cause.

After the fantastic response to the St John Ambulance appeal (see http://www.justgiving.com/pompeyfans4stjohnsambulance ), which met its target in just over 24 hours, Pompey fans now have another chance to support a charity let down by the owners and senior executives of Portsmouth Football Club.

This time its the turn of the Harbour Cancer Support Centre which is owed £2,300.  You can find out more about this excellent Gosport-based charity at its website http://www.harbourcancer.org.uk/

There is an articlle about the debt at  http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/newshome/Cancer-charities-owed-thousands-by.6250652.jp

Its almost impossible to believe that the vey highly-paid officials at the Foootball Club have let a charity like this down so badly through their mismanagement of the Club's finances. We, as Pompey fans, have a chance to right this wrong. Please contribute.

[Important note: In contributing in this way to the HCSC the intention is that Pompey fans are able to fill the void left by the Club's irresponsible behaviour.  It is not intended that this should give the Club's owners any excuse not to pay off the debt themselves. No Pompey fans should be expected to bail out those who have put PFC into its current desperate state.]
