My lovely Dad(Mike) and Harry's wonderful Gramps sadly lost his short battle with Acute Myloid Leukemia on Tuesday 19th May 2020. -It was all very quick  and shocking for us all as a family.

Dad was diagnosed with Acute Myloid Leukemia on Friday 27th April and passed away only 3 weeks later on Tuesday 19th May.

We didn't know much at all about this particular type of Leukemia and were shocked at how fast it took over and made Dad so poorly. He was only 65 and this came completely out of the blue for him. He started experiencing lots more tiredness and pain in his leg . After a trip to the Doctor, he needed to go to Hospital straight away. Dad was diagnosed and told he would need to have intensive Chemotherapy straight away. He was told that it could be anything from 3 weeks-5 years! I thought no way on this earth would it be only 3 weeks and thought that the Doctors had to say that. But, unfortunately it was only 3 weeks until losing him.

We all miss Dad so terribly much and life won't be the same without him. He had my wonderful Mum and they would have been celebrating their 40th Wedding anniversary next year, his 3 Children, 4 Grandchildren and one more Grandchild on the way.

Harry won't talk much about losing his Gramps but he does say "Please stop talking about it, it makes me sad." He was very close to his funny Gramps. He was always making them laugh and reassuring them. -The best Gramps ever! ..Playing with them down on the floor and the best at making sandcastles on the Beach.

Harry is going to cycle 65 miles for Gramps in August and September. He would have turned 66 on 23rd August. We thought that this would be a great focus for Harry and I have found that Harry opens up to me when it is just me and him out on his bike. He feels free and it is wonderful to see. I will either cycle or run along side him.

We hope that we can raise money for cure Leukemia and hope that we can help some way into the research for Leukemia. To raise awareness of Acute Myloid Leukemia and to plead to please go to your Doctor if something doesn't feel right.

We are doing this for you Gramps.

Please donate anything you can and spur Harry on for his big challenge. He will need lots of encouragement!

Thank you.

Harry and Katie xx
