We are a group of athletes from Hartlepool with backgrounds as diverse as teachers, tradesmen, engineers and surveyors. Two things bring us together: love of sport and the need to make a difference in our local community.

 

We hail from all areas of the town and beyond and specialise in sports from, running to swimming, football to rugby and triathlon to weight training. 

 

Together we are developing a range of endurance activities for 2012 to raise as much money as possible for worthy local charities. We have chosen 'The Butterwick Hospice' as our charity to support in 2012 and especially the amazing work that goes on in the 'Children's Hospice' in Stockton on Tees.

 

As well as accepting donations from individuals simply in recognition of this amazing charity, we will be putting ourselves through some particularly difficult challenges in the hope that our pain will bring awareness (and a substantial amount of money), to this charity.

 

Events under development for 2012 are:

-A 26.2hr ultra marathon on a circuit around Hartlepool -trying to achieve a minimum of 100 miles or 4 marathons! The date has not been set yet as we are negotiating with the team and support for the most suitable date for all. (Start August 11th)

-A 24hr road bike marathon with a spectator friendly 'Bike Roller' section at either end of this challenge - with minimum goal of 300miles in that time. Again a date will be set soon but it is thought it will be in the early summer.(May 12th has been decided)

-A range of triathlon, duathlon and open water swimming events . . .with a difference! Details to be announced when the team pull crazy themed ideas out of a hat!

 

We will keep you updated as much as possible through this page and our facebook page, but please spread the word and offer any suggestions of corporate companies that may wish to sponsor the event and help us limit the personal cost to our athletes.

 

If you DO want to support us, but the nature and extent of some of our activities may be a little overwhelming, we would love support on any leg or section of any event or in the form of marshalling or aid at the events also!
