SKYJUMP COMPLETED
Wiltshire Times- Friday 5th Feb 2010,
I appreciate all of you for sponsoring me and for your good wishes!! A BIG Thanks for helping me raise £400 for Guide Dogs in total. Please keep donating -as my page is still open until April 2010.
I jumped 12,000ft out of a plane on Saturday 30th 2010 at 12:45 at the Gloucester Barracks for Guide Dogs. I was such a mixture of emotions all day, before doing the Tandem Skydive, from excitement, to nervousness to apprenhension, to an array of thoughts to what am I doing? Is this real?
Once in the air, it was such an exhilerating experience, I loved it!! The weather could not have been more perfect, clear sunny skies and a stunning view over Gloucester, despite the coldness at -45, the adrenaline rush kept me warm!! I landed with a huge smile.
The instructors were brilliant, professional, relaxed, friendly and genuinely ready to put me at ease with any questions I had.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Why am I raising money for Guide Dogs for the Blind?
As the owner of a 13 year old Golden Retriever, Oliver, I have always had a soft spot for dogs. I love their loyalty, sense of adventure and their company. I am passionate about dogs.
These amazing Guide dogs are doing a fantastic job of supporting blind and partially sighted people to live their daily life with as much normality as possible.
I have been a member for Guide Dogs for several years, however, I left for a while to go to university , but only since Summer 2009,I have been back volunteering with the Chippenham Branch.
As a group, everyone works exceptionally hard to raise the profile of Guide Dogs.We all have our roles to play from the Branch Members , Puppy Walkers, Admin, Volunteers.
I don't have a guide dog myself but I will be sponsoring a dog for definate in the future.
I have friends and neighbours with poor sight loss and I have witnessed the difficulties they face and how they have overcome them.
Why is your support so important?
By donating on this page through safe means- your money, whatever, you give will give a Blind or partially person a reason to live, as stated here:
'Having a guide dog has given me back my dignity, my reason to live. Until I had Isla I was ignored, had been attacked and was too frightened to leave the house. Now I feel like a human being again.’
Hilda Winters, 89-year-old guide dog owner
It costs a lot of money to fund the puppies to train them in making them great Guide Dogs, about £40,000 per dog in its lifetime, for the training, breeding costs, vet and feeding bills. It is about £10 a day to care for a puppy. Guide Dogs For the Blind rely soley on voluntary contributions and voluntary help,

Skydive- 30th January- 2010 Duke of Gloucester Barracks, South Cerney
Well, mine is the scary bit, jumping out of a plane! I've never done anything like this before and I am not keen of heights, so 12,000 ft doing a tandem skydive is something that will take some nerve, but I think this cause is so important that I am willing to do this mad thing! I will be strapped to a qualified instructor, and I am hoping once raising the minimum of £350 for Guide Dogs, that's where I need your help, your donations please!!
