Well it is over and done with now. I don't know if there was anyone in our group as terrified as I was but once we were strapped into our harness and herded into the lift, there was no going back. My crutches were lowered over first so I couldn't do a runner, then, after what seemed like hours I finally reached solid ground. Was I mad or what? NEVER AGAIN! However it was well worth it for such a brilliant charity.
The Teenage Cancer Trust West Midlands have a new 6 bedded unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and the units in Birmingham Childrens Hospital and the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital need transforming. These units not only treat teenagers from Birmingham but from Hereford and Worcester, Staffordshire and Shropshire and Warwickshire as well. They are the only charity specifically for this purpose. This is where your money will be used.
If you haven't already donated and are thinking of doing so, please do. The most efficient way by far is through Just Giving. Not only will the TCT get your donations quicker, but if you pay tax in the UK Just Giving will organise the Gift Aid, an extra 25% plus 3% supplement making an extra 28p in every pound you donate!
