Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Please read to understand why we want the donations to go to the BHF.

Both David & Terry made it round the 8.5miles on Sunday 6th June:

David - 1hr 40mins 6secs

Terry - 2hr 0mins 59secs

Riley was diagnosed with Tetrology of Fallots with Major Arterial Pulmonary Collateral Artery (MAPCAs) when he was 6 months old and underwent open heart surgery, which lasted around 9 hours and spent several days in intensive with his chest cavity left open in case of swelling around the heart, but was soon closed a day or 2 after.

Riley has had a number of surgical procedures 5 in total throughout his nearly 3 years of life, which was not just for his heart. Riley has to be reviewed by his Cardiologist on a 6 monthly period, as ongoing open heart surgery is required throughout the rest of his life.

When babies and children have such conditions it effects them in all kinds of ways, Riley never sat up on his own till 14 months old and his physiotherapist was even unsure if he'd crawl let alone walk due to his lack of gross motor skills. But Riley proved them all wrong he is walking, but was also diagnosed with Hyperflexibilty of all his joints and needs to still have physio for his balance and co-ordination. Riley is still unable to walk long distances without becoming breathless and is still on medication for his heart, lungs and weight gain.

So David Clarke & Terry Edmunds are running in the Great Midlands Fun Run (8.5miles) on the 6th June 2010 to help raise money for the BHF. Who have helped and supported since Riley was born.
