Fundraising for Oxford Hospitals Charity

Back in September our Dad was diagnosed with the Big C. As many of you know this is a terrifying feeling. Our Dad - Olly - had a very serious case of throat cancer. So bad that it was touch and go whether the surgeons would actually be able to operate.
Now 10 months on from invasive, debilitating surgery, plus a long course of radiotherapy he is thankfully on the road to recovery.
In a moment of madness we decided to run this Half Marathon to help raise money for Heads Up.
Heads Up is a Head & Neck Cancer Research Charity based at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where Dad spent much of the last 10 months. It was formed by ENT Consultant Surgeons Rogan Corbridge and Graham Cox, Oncologist Amanda Salisbury and Research Scientist, Stephan Feller - people who personally helped our Dad.
Sadly, because of the present economic climate, Cancer Research UK has withdrawn their funding support so Heads Up desperately needs your help to continue with this vital, leading edge work.
To quote one of their patients: "Head and Neck cancers are horrible and spiteful; thank goodness Heads Up is looking for ways to cure this frightening disease". This disease often seriously alters how patients look, speak, taste and swallow, thus denying them the basic pleasures of life that most take for granted.
So please help us continue to fund this important work by digging deep and donating today.
