And it only cost me 6 hours, 4 toenails and 15 pints of sweat. Plus the indignity of being overtaken by a mister man, an ice cream cone, a heavily laden marine, 2 men pulling a sledge, a rhinoceros, a blind man, 3 fairies, a one legged man, a fireman in full kit, a womble, a gingerbread man and a 70 year old woman!

I think my running days however, may now be over. My mum made me promise not to do it again and there is the matter of the neglected housework. 

But I have my medal and my t shirt so job done!
