Story
Please please read on.....
I am for the first time training to run a marathon, I have secured my London Marathon place for April 2008. So far I have completed a half marathon in the summer as well as the Great South Run and some local runs. For those who know me will appreciate that running a marathon will not be easy as I am not built as a runner. I belong to Liss Running Club which meets literally at the end of my road, so no excuses for me then!! Ooh looking forward to those cold wet dull winter days of training.......
I (that's me on the left) have decided to run for Multiple Sclerosis Society and hope that you will be able to big deep and sponsor me. I wanted to do something positive for my dear friend Jane (that's her in the middle!) who has just been diagnosed with MS. Jane and I joined the police together in 1995 and have been friends since. Jane says she is honoured that I am running for her and her charity, however the honour is all mine as I am humbled by her attitude and drive to not let this diagnosis get the better of her or her friends and family. She is the inspiration I need and I know she will keep me going when the going gets a lot tougher.
I am married to Darren and we have two girls Olivia (aged 5) and Louisa (aged 3). Darren is a star and is helping me so much with my training by looking after the girls so that I can complete my long runs, without him it would make it impossible with two small children.
19th March Update.
I have completed some long runs now, and have managed to run my last 21 mile run in 3 hours 33 mins with a friend. I was pleased with the time and absolutley exhausted at the end. I am going to do my last long run on Good Friday of about 20 miles and from there on I will be reducing my miles ready for the big day. I am excited and nervous about completing the run. Everyone has been a really supportive and the encouragement I have had from friends and family is overwelming.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: MS Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
