Update 19th April ...
Amazingly, I made it around in one piece largely due to the fantastic support from the thousands of spectators cheering everybody on. It was a gorgeous day, a little bit hot but at least there was no wind on Brighton sea front and it made it a bit easier for Simon and the girls who were waiting from 8.30am just to see a glimpse of me running past them! With your help, I also managed to raise over £1500 for Children on the Edge.
I can barely walk today and the thought of ever running again is quite a terrifying one but I finished in 3 hours and 42 minutes which I was pleased with. I'm wondering now whether I could have run that bit harder ... maybe next time!

Only 17 hours to go, I'm so nervous! Please sponsor me and give me another reason not to give up at mile 24!! Thank you
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those of you who don't know, I am rapidly approaching my 40th Birthday and clearly having some sort of mid-life crisis as on Sunday (yes that's this Sunday!), I shall be attempting to run 26.2 miles around the Brighton Marathon. Although I have been a 'runner' for several years, I have had to become a lot more serious about my training and somehow squeeze in five runs every week since Isla was born a few months ago. Fortunately, she has been enjoying being pushed along at speed (well it's speedy for her!) in her buggy whilst watching the trees go by.
So apart from the mid-life crisis, why am I doing this?! Well for a while now here at Montezuma's, we have had a close association with the amazing charity, Children on the Edge. They are based in Chichester and are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year and their sole purpose is to help the most marginalised and vulnerable children around the world. If you have two minutes, check out their work online at www.childrenontheedge.org
This year, we have set ourselves a target of raising £12,000 for Children on the Edge, this isn't some random amount but the cost of running one migrant school for a whole year on the Thai Burma Border. Children on the Edge supports seven of these schools and collectively educate 1001 children. To us, the cost of educating and feeding these children seems negligible - just £89 per year or 24 pence per day per child. So if the economy is still fleecing you, please just give a few pounds, it all helps but if you are one of those sitting on a lovely pile of cash which Gordon Brown hasn't discovered yet, then please send it in this direction, I can guarantee that it will be put to a good cause. In return, I'll put every last drop of energy into dragging my ageing body around Brighton on the 18th April and send you the photos to prove it!
