Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 18 October 2009 our son, Oliver, was born with a heart defect called Transposition of the Great Arteries. The two main arteries to and from his heart were the wrong way round. On 19 October he was taken, by ambulance, to Leeds General Infirmary where an initial emergency procedure took him out of immediate danger. When he was 11 days old he had open heart surgery to put the two main arteries and the two smaller coronary arteries in the right place. The operation was performed by Mr Watterson, in whose debt we will always be. Hopefully, Oliver is now cured and shouldn't need any further surgery, or even medication.
I am running 50 miles through the Lake District in 24 hours with the aim of raising money for Leeds General Infirmary, in particular Ward 10 and Ward 4 (Intensive Care), via Leeds Children's Heart Surgery Fund, to thank them for all their help and support.
Any donation you can afford would be amazing. Thank you
