Story

2 years ago, the teams at the Special Care Baby Units at Nevill Hall Hospital and the Royal Gwent Hospital helped save the life of our little soldier, Nathan Murphy. The picture shows Nathan not long after he was born, weighing just 1lb 11oz; but look at him now!

He was lucky enough, along with many other babies, to have the devoted care and undivided attention of two wonderful teams, and we could never thank them enough for getting him on the right path.

By raising funds for the SCBU's at Nevill Hall and the Royal Gwent, we want to help give other families those wonderful feelings we got every time Nathan hit a new milestone.

Of course, we understand that some families aren't so lucky, and that includes our own. In May 2007, we lost the beautiful Sophie Ann. Every stride we take in the half marathon, you can guarantee we will be thinking about her.

Neither of us do any running at the moment, so we have 9 months to get ourselves in gear.... determination for such a great cause is going to make us realise why we're hitting the gym instead of lying on the sofa!
