Story
Three years ago, women all over the UK (most of them members of Mumsnet) walked a mile in memory of a beautiful little girl named Maude, who passed away just after her second birthday. I was the national organiser of that event, and it was so successful that the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths (FSID) decided to repeat it the following year - this is the event that has become "Mile in Memory", FSID's flagship fundraising event.
Over the past two years, Mile in Memory has raised over £150,000, money that has gone towards ongoing research into Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, and support of families that have lost a child.
This year, I will be walking with my son Henry, who took part in A Mile for Maude as a toddler! but will be charging around London on May 15th helping me to raise money for this really important cause.
