We're back. Last year, under the weight of responsibility of securing over £2,500 in sponsorship for this wonderful charity, and 11 hours and 40 minutes into the 2007 competition, we lost out on penalties in the semi-final in true English style. 32 teams played for 12 hours through sun, rain and hail on Clapham Common.
We are back to do better this time. The small picture on the left is of a Tackle Africa funded coaching session in action, in Uganda in January 2007. The charity works with young people and local coaches to bring top quality football coaching and exposure to the positive messages of living safely in areas with high levels of HIV infection. Please look at www.tackleafrica.org for more details (and how to get involved yourself). We will all run for 12 hours again this year to help carry on the great work Tackle Africa does. The ALL STARS academy in Uganda goes from strength to strength, and projects visit Ghana and Zambia in 2008.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Tackle Africa gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
