Help Higgy Hit a Hundred
On Sunday 25th October, Higgy's Heroes will be taking on the Stroud Half Marathon.
100 Higgy's Heroes will be on the start line as they face the exciting challenge of a 13 mile race.
Last year, a team of 30 Higgy's Heroes raised over £14,000 for the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre (MSRC), among the Heroes who took part were many members of Higgy's family including his wife Jeannie and sons, Adam and Dan.
Higgy was one of the most talented sporting all-rounders of his generation, winning four Blues for Cambridge at rugby and four at cricket. He made his England debut against Australia in Brisbane, the first of 14 caps at full-back before retiring through injury in 1979. He joined the BBC as a sports assistant in 1985 and went on to carve out another successful career in broadcasting before retiring last year.
Alastair was diagnosed with MS in 1999 and is Patron of the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre (MSRC) and actively campaigns to raise more awareness of MS.
