Story

All it takes is 7 climbers, 2 drivers, 3 peaks, 24 hours, 3407 metres of climbing, 23 miles of walking, 400 miles of driving and countless pints of sweat and tears!!!

Seven hardy HSBC employees will be dragging themselves up three of the toughest climbs in the UK but they need sponsorship first....

Ifor Lewis, Andy Boozer, Stuart Dryburgh, Anna Choonpicharn, Ravi Thind & Sharon Powell

We've got an ambitious fundraising target of £5,000. BUT... HSBC will match any of the team member's individual fundraising of £500 per year. If you donate you'll get that same amount matched by HSBC until we hit that limit.

Also through this website you can register your donation for Gift Aid. This means that your donation claims tax relief of 28% from HMRC if you are a UK taxpayer. For more information please click on the "above Gift Aid" link at the bottom of this page.

HSBC's Team 5 will conquer the biggest peaks in each of Scotland, England and Wales in under 24 hours. All in aid of the Lord Mayor's Appeal 2007. They have four main charities that benefit from this appeal; the VSO, Mansion House Scholarship Scheme, Guild of Educators and King Edward's School Witley. To find out more about the Lord Mayor's Appeal 2007 please click here.

An example of where the money goes with the VSO:

£5,000 would help to fund research into an innovative project to twin teachers and City professionals for cross-cultural learning and exchange through the Guild of Educators.

£30,000 would ensure funding for a special needs teacher in Rwanda for two years as a VSO volunteer.

£100,000 would fund an entire VSO Global Xchange youth volunteering project that unites young people from Britain and developing countries for voluntary work here and overseas.

About the charity

VSO is an international development organisation that brings people together to share skills, build capabilities, and change lives to make the world a fairer place for all. Everyday, VSO volunteers are working to empower people living in some of the world’s most marginalised communities.
