We safe and decent homes for families to build new lives, hopes and opportunities

Story

After too many beers earlier this year I foolishly agreed to enter the Rutland Water Marathon in aid of Habitat for Humanity's Orphans and Vulnerable Children Programme, a charity that Stephen George & Partners have been supporting since 2008.

So far we have raised £68,000 and through further sponsored events we would like to take that total up to £100,000.

This money will help the Orphans and Vulnerable Children initiative in Africa to build 60 new homes over three years, to house 60 families or 300 individuals.

In addition to building homes the Orphans and Vulnerable Children Programme provides education about AIDS, wills and inheritance rights and gives training to set up businesses and improve incomes. Our efforts, and yours, will empower underpriviliged young people and give them the means to build themselves a real future.

This is an extremely worthy cause so please dig deep and donate now. Any amount small, large or very large will be greatly appreciated.

About the charity

We believe decent homes are the heartbeat of strong communities and so we also fight for land rights for women, upgrade urban slums and informal settlements, improve access to water and sanitation, and help communities become more resilient in the face of natural disasters.
