ING New York City Marathon 2008 · 2 November 2008 ·

We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

Until recently, the furthest that I had ever run was 3 miles! I was 15, skinny as a rake with thick blonde curly locks. I hear what you’re all saying, “not much has changed since then” but now I’ve agreed to run a marathon with 20 or so friends from Old Southendian Football Club to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

You can check out our training schedule and cheer on the whole team through the following web site:

Please join the forum and encourage/tease/abuse at will!

3 months down the line and I’m pleased to say that 10 miles is a breeze BUT I have a long way to go (16 and bit miles to be more precise!). With only 2 months to go, I’ve got to the stage where I really NEED some help and motivation to complete my training and reach my fundraising target for this very worthy cause.

PLEASE pledge or donate as much as you can.... I’m sure if we all make it through this, there will definitely be a party on our return!

Thank you!!

Ian
